INTRODUCTION
Bahawalpur Lot covers 22% of the area and 11% of the total estimated population of Punjab Province and includes Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan Districts. All three districts share their Eastern Borders with India. From North Eastern corner to South Western corner, the districts of this lot share border with Okara, Pakpattan, Vehari, Lodhran, Multan, Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur Districts of Punjab Province and Ghotki District of Sind Province. This lot is part of Thal and Nara Deserts of Cholistan.
Total settlements (Muza) in Bahawalpur Lot are 3,817 with population 9.63 million, approximately. Roughly 25% of the muza are un-served that covers 3% of rural population of this lot. In some muza, the Population Census Organization has published population of muza equal to '0' or '-' or below 100 persons
Universal Service Fund and Telenor entered in the contract to provide basic telephony and data services to the mass population in un-served areas of Bahawalpur on September 22, 2008.

Comments:
The project has been successfully completed and audited within the contracted timelines. However, due to the delay in receipt of funds, payment for the final project milestone was made to the SP in December, 2009.
